Smith
Artiek Smith- painter/illustrator, cartoonist/watercolorist, muralist/sign
painter for over 35 years, graduated from the Douglass High School
in Memphis, Tennessee. He
attended
both the American Academy and the Commercial Art Institute in Chicago
and studied the Old Master technique where he learned the Old Maroger
method of painting at the Scottsdale Artist School in Scottsdale,
Arizona.
In addition to Artiek’s multi-talents, he continues to teach
art classes both private and public. He has exhibited both locally
and internationally. Included in his many exhibits are: The National
Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, the Rotunda in Washington, DC, and
the Salon Des Nations in Paris, France.
Artiek designs stained glass windows and he specializes in genre and
historical paintings depicting Black Cowboys which are available for
show and for sale.
